Photography writer Matty Graham goes in search of the ‘Big Horns’ armed with just his camera and this value for money camera bag.
Photography is a dangerous job. Sure, studio and wedding photographers have less to fear, unless they are confronted by a particularly aggressive bride, but nature photographers especially are often put in situations where they may be forced to, quite literally, run for their lives.
One of my latest assignments was to capture some images of deer on a local reserve in a rural area of England called Lincolnshire. This may not sound too frightening, but it coincided with the deer’s rutting season, where the alpha males fight, sometimes to the death, for mating rights in their pack. Place yourself in between two warring deer and at best you’ll get injured and at worst, you won’t make it home.
